So, dynamics in music tell us how loud or soft to play.

In music, we see symbols like piano, mezzo piano, mezzo forte, and forte, which tell us approximately how soft or loud we should be playing.

Which is, how do we make them? Well, of course, we make them by playing.

But doesn't playing require energy? So if energy is needed, why not use words like more or less? For example, playing closer to the bridge can be called more.

Or playing closer to the fingerboard could be called less.

Using a faster bow speed could be more.

Or using a slower bow speed could be less.

All right then, suppose we combine some elements.

Suppose we combine a faster vibrato with a faster bow speed. That could be more.

Or we combine a slower vibrato with a slower bow speed.

That could be less.

What about a fast finger to the string with a fast bow speed? Well, that could be more.

Or a slow finger to the string with a slow bow speed.

Well, this could be less.

All right then, to get all this organized, I think we need to make a list. Call it an energy list. Hmm, what do you think?
