Violin Video Lesson: The Many Stories of Bill Fitzpatrick: My day of practicing

I was teaching at the Blair School in Nashville and playing 2nd violin in the Blair Quartet. I decided to live in my rented studio with my bed on the floor without a spring mattress underneath, a stool, but no other furniture. As for electronic devices I only had a clock and a tape recorder.
Monday through Friday's I was up at 6:00, washed up, and then had tea and muesli. I would start practicing Yost at 6:30 and then from 8:00 Schradieck till 9:15. I would then go to my 3 hour quartet rehearsal at 9:30 and at 12:30 have my hour lunch break. I would then practice from 1:30 till the first student, which was around 4:00 and then had my dinner break till 8:00. I recorded rep from 8:00 to 10:00.
I would then walk down the street and buy some ice cream, come back home and while eating it I would listen to what I had recorded. If needed I would then revise my practice sheets. Weekends I just did it all in a row!
Every few weeks or so I would fly to New York and have a lesson with Ms Delay. I would take the Friday evening red eye, stay at my girlfriend's apartment and practice all day Saturday for my lesson on Sunday! Sunday night I would fly back to Nashville and do it all over again!
Seriously I did this for one whole year!
