So, artificial intelligence, or AI, is in the news a lot these days. But ChatGPT, which is the language model for AI, really caught my attention.

ChatGPT works by entering a prompt, which is sort of like a question.

It's with that in mind that I came up with this idea for prompt.

And it write good program notes on Vinyavsky's Scherzo Tarantella.

Gosh, it's so fast.

I mean, it's really detailed, but what I was looking for was more like a paragraph that I could use inside my program notes.

Well, that's pretty impressive.

Oh yes, take care with ChatGPT as AIs are prone to hallucinations, which simply means making stuff up.

All right then, so what about entering a prompt asking how to practice the first movement of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto? I can't wait to see what it says as this is a major concerto. And as you know, it's huge.

But are you seeing this? I mean, it's really answering the prompt.

It even broke it down into 10 steps.

Impressive.

I suppose I prompted about one of those steps.

I'm curious as to how deep it can go. So I'll use the first one titled Break It Down. Let's see what it does, how deep it goes.

Well, look at that.

It gave two possible responses and both are pretty in depth.

As well, it's asking which response I prefer. Imagine that, ChatGPT is involving me in the response to my prompt.

That's really impressive, don't you think? Well, after all that, I'm really curious as to what it would say if I asked it about how to practice intonation in the second movement of the Mendelssohn E minor violin concerto.

I don't know about you, but I could really use some help.

Geez, it really is like having a trainer inside my computer or iPhone or iPad or you name it. I come up with a prompt and it helps put that idea into words.

Quite remarkable.

But that's really just the tip of this GPT iceberg as this just gives us a glimpse into what it can do.

But you know what? I know what it can't do. It can't play the violin like this.
